A Child Waits Foundation Adoption Grants

A Child Waits Foundation helps with final adoption fees through their Domestic and International Grants.

Applications are accepted on a continual basis for awards of $1,000 – $7,500.

Eligibility

This grant is open to citizens of the United States and Canada who are adopting either domestically or internationally. Applicants’ gross household income must be under $150,000 a year and they must have completed a home study.

Statements of faith and letters of recommendation are not required.

Domestic Grants

Applicants may request assistance with:

  • Private adoptions
  • Sibling groups or reunification of siblings
  • Foster children, if expenses are not paid by the state
  • Children from an adoption disruption/dissolution
  • Adoptions through a placing agency, attorney, or matching service

If all agency and program fees have been paid, grant funds may be used for travel costs to bring the child home.

International Grants

International grant funds are intended for final costs, after the adoptive family has been approved to bring their child home. Because timelines and travel requirements vary, the Foundation works with the family to determine the best time to present their request to the Board for a decision.

The review process can be expedited if the travel date has been set for sooner than expected or if a medically expedient adoption has been approved.
